Biographical details
Kwesi studied 'cello at the Royal Academy of Music in London where he was appointed principal cellist of the college Symphony Orchestra. Teachers have included David Strange, and Phillip Shepherd as well as master classes with the Skampa and Alberni quartets.
Kwesi is a busy freelance musician and has played extensively throughout the UK as well as in Hungary, France and Switzerland. He has played for Sir Elton John and performed at the Jubilee Party at Buckingham Palace.
Kwesi has recently performed as soloist in the Barber Cello Concerto and Tchaikovsky's Rococo Variations. In early 2007 Kwesi is performing Dvorak's cello concerto (details to follow). Kwesi has recently recorded a score of improvised music to accompany a short independent film. As well as working with the Amber Players, Kwesi plays in a duo with pianist Alexander Hills. Kwesi was appointed as principal cellist of the Jersey Symphony Orchestra in 2006.
Teaching availability
Kwesi currently directs the Caesor Cello Ensemble in East London and is the head of Oxford Cello School's junior department. He teaches both adults and children around the London area. A patient and enthusiastic tutor, Kwesi brings out the best in his students.
